İzmir Governorship's Environmental Impact Assessment Report is not required for the 13,5km metro project planned to be constructed between Üçyol-Buca by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. With the decision, there were no obstacles in front of the metro project.
The planned route will start from Buca Çamlıkule stop and reach Üçyol Metro Stop after Buca Koop and Dokuz Eylül Tinaztepe Campus, Hasanağa Garden, Butchers Square, Buca Municipality, Şirinyer, General Asım Gündüz and Zafertepe stops. The construction, which will start in 2018, is scheduled to be completed in four years and the line is expected to open in mid-2022. The project is expected to cost 3 billion 318 million TL.
