First Passengers in BTK Railway Project Arrived in Kars from Georgia

In the international Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway (BTK) project, which was completed during the construction phase, the first train for passenger transportation from Georgia to Kars was realized on 27 September 2017.

From Georgia's Ahılkelek station to Kars, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan, President of Azerbaijan Railways Administration Cavid Gurbanov, Governor Mr. Rahmi Doğan, AK Party Member of Parliament Kars. Yusuf Selahattin Beyribey and other protocol members for the first passengers consisting of a welcome program was held in Kars Station.

Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan and President of the Azerbaijan Railways Administration Cavid Gurbanov made a speech and emphasized the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) project.

Following the demonstration of the teams of folk dances, the program signed an international protocol specifying the transportation tariffs in the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) line.

Following the program at the Directorate of the Directorate of Rail, Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Cavid Gurbanov, President of the Azerbaijan Railways Administration, and Mr. Rahmi Dogan and other protocol members visited the Haydar Aliyev monument in Heydar Aliyev Park and the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Kars.

Following the departure of the airline of the President of the Azerbaijan Railway Administration Cavid Gurbanov, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan visited Governor Rahmi Doğan in his office and exchanged views about the ongoing works and projects in Kars.

After Minister Ahmet Arslan's visit to the Governorship, Governor Rahmi Doğan and other protocol members went to Evliya Mosque and visited the tomb of Ebul Hasan Harakani.
