A new phase begins within the scope of the line constructions of Konak Tramway, which is being built by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
10 As of August Thursday, the line will be connected to Cumhuriyet Boulevard and Gazi Boulevard.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues the production on the Konak-Alsancak axis, which constitutes the most difficult stage of Konak Tramway, without slowing down. In this region, line production works on the route of Poet Eşref Boulevard started between Lausanne Square and Alsancak Mosque in the past months and the part up to Montreux Square was completed. On the other hand, work on Ali Çetinkaya Boulevard was also completed. Currently, line production in various regions in Alsancak and Konak is planned to be completed by September 2017, 2018, when the 18 - 2017 academic year begins.
After the completion of the line productions in Konak Square in Cumhuriyet Boulevard, the line came to Gazi Boulevard connection. In this context, during the line construction works that will start on Thursday, August 10, 2017, the intersection will be kept alive by applying temporary traffic displacement at the intersection of Cumhuriyet Boulevard and Gazi Boulevard. In the intersection axis of the two junctions, traffic flow will be provided in one lane from both directions.
