As part of the needs of the Naval Forces Command, a ceremony was held to meet the Lieutenant Arif Ekmekçi Logistics Support Ship, which was built in the Selah Shipyard in Tuzla.

The domestic production ship, named after the martyr SAT Commando Naval Senior Lieutenant Arif Ekmekçi, who disappeared during the 1993 Sea Wolf Exercise and whose funeral was found 15 years later, has a capacity of 106,51 meters, 16,80 meters width and 6 thousand 150 tons of fuel carrying capacity and helicopter. platform. The ship, which can make speed over 12 nautical miles per hour (22 kilometers / hour), has a cruise range of 9 nautical miles (500 kilometers).

In the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, a promotional film describing the characteristics of the ship was shown.

After the speeches, the ship was launched with the participation of the protocol and Şule Akar, the wife of General Staff General Hulusi Akar, cutting the line.

In addition to Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan, Minister of National Defense Fikri Işık, Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar and Naval Commander Admiral Bülent Bostanoğlu, Governor of Istanbul Vasip Şahin, Naval Commander Admiral Veysel Kösele, 1st Army Commander Gen. Musa Avsever, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Kadir Topbaş and Arif Ekmekçi's mother, Women Bread, also joined the ship.
