Konak Tramway meets Alsancak Station

The tram project of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which is carried out with the goal of environmentally friendly, economical and comfortable city transportation, is being entered into another difficult period on the Konak line. Due to the line productions reaching the region where Alsancak Station is located, a mandatory change will be made in the traffic order. As of 31 July, traffic flow between Altınordu Square and Vahap Özaltay Square will operate in the direction of Halkapınar only from one lane. Vehicles to go in the direction of Konak will be directed to 1. Kordon.

The pace is gradually increasing in Konak Tramway, which is being built by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. The line productions that started from Üçkuyular reached Ataturk Street passing by Alsancak Station. The part of the line productions on the Poet Eşref Boulevard between Lausanne Square and Alsancak Mosque up to Montreux Square and the line work on Ali Cetinkaya Boulevard have been completed. On the Poet Eşref Boulevard, work continues between Montreux Square and Cankaya in two stages.

As of 31 July, the line production works of Konak Tramway will be carried out between Sait Altınordu Square and Vahap Özaltay Square, which covers the area in front of Alsancak Station. In order to overcome this difficult stage as soon as possible, radical changes will be made in the traffic order. Preliminary work in the field will begin on July 29. It is aimed that the line laying and landscaping works will take 30 days in total and be completed before the Feast of Sacrifice.

Within the scope of prepared Traffic Displacement Project;
In the section from Vahap Özaltay Square to the ESHOT Bus Stop pocket of the Atatürk Street (to the TCDD 3rd Regional Directorate Building), two lanes will be closed to the vehicle traffic on the right side of the road, and the traffic flow will be arranged in such a way that "going only from Halkapınar direction".
On the part between Atatürk Street ESHOT Bus Stop pocket (TCDD 3rd Regional Directorate Building) and Sait Altınordu Square, the left side of the road will be closed to the vehicle traffic and the traffic flow will be arranged as "going to Halkapınar direction only from the two lanes".
The vehicles going to Konak from Liman Street will be directed to 1.Kordon (Atatürk Street).
Sait Altınordu Square, Halkapınar direction vehicles, 1.Kordon and Konak will not be able to return to direction.
The intersection of 1462 Sokak with Atatürk Street will be closed to vehicle traffic.
The vehicles will be provided from Şair Eşref Boulevard to return to Talatpaşa Boulevard.
The part of Ziya Gökalp Boulevard between Atatürk Street and Ali Çetinkaya Boulevard will be arranged as a “one way” towards Ali Çetinkaya Boulevard. The routes of Konak-Kahramanlar taxi minibuses will end at the intersection of Ziya Gökalp Boulevard with Ali Çetinkaya Boulevard and they will return from this point.
Studies will continue at night.

Bus routes also changed
The General Directorate of ESHOT also made changes in the routes of the bus lines passing through the region within the framework of the traffic arrangement to be established during the works. According to this;

The lines 70 (Buca) - 80 (BOZYAKA) - 90 (GAZİEMİR) - 255 (ÜÇYOL) and 581 (F.ALTAY) go in the direction of Ikiçmelik, Halkapınar Transfer, Şehitler Bulvarı, Yeşildere Caddesi, Dr. After following the route of the Poet Eşref Boulevard, Refik Saydam Boulevard will return from Lausanne Square and continue on its existing route through Ikiçeşmelik and Eşrefpaşa.

Buses to 121 (BOSTANLI SCALE) and 920 (ÇİĞLİ) lines will follow Bostanlı İskele, Altınyol, Yeşildere Street, Dr.Refik Saydam Boulevard, Şair Eşref Boulevard, Vahap Özaltay Square, Talatpaşa Boulevard, Cumhuriyet Boulevard and Konak route in the direction of Konak.

63 (EVKA 3 METRO) - 930 (BORNOVA) - 802 (EGEKENT TRANSFER) lines to the direction of Konak Altınyol, Yeşildere Caddesi, Dr. Refik Saydam Boulevard, Poet Eşref Boulevard, Lausanne Square, Vasıf Çınar Boulevard, Cumhuriyet Boulevard and Konak will make trips.

Line 12 (FAHRETTİN ALTAY AKTARMA) will follow the Halkapınar Transfer, Şehitler Bulvarı, Yeşildere Caddesi, Dr. Refik Saydam Boulevard, Şair Eşref Boulevard, Vahap Özaltay Square, Talatpaşa Boulevard and Cumhuriyet Boulevard and reach its current route.

The 251 (KAHRAMANLAR) line will reach Konak from Halkapınar Transfer, Şehitler Bulvarı, Yeşildere Caddesi, Kahramanlar, Şair Eşref Boulevard and Gazi Boulevard on the way to Konak.

Buses to 251 (HEROES) line are going to Halkapınar,
Konak, Fevzipaşa Boulevard, Mürselpaşa Boulevard, Heroes, Dr. Mustafa Enverbey Street, Şair Eşref Boulevard and Halkapınar will use the transfer route.

Ring line to be created
In addition, 252 (Şair Eşref Boulevard) and 253 (Talatpaşa Boulevard) lines will be canceled during the works and 888 numbered line (Alsancak - Konak) will be created instead. This ring line Konak Bahribaba Bus Stations, Mithatpaşa Street, 334 / 3 Street, Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard, Ataturk Street, Cumhuriyet Boulevard, Gazi Boulevard, Refik Saydam Boulevard, Şair Eşref Boulevard, Talatpaşa Boulevard, Cumhuriyet Boulevard, Atatürk Street, Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard, 303 Street, Mithatpaşa Street, Konak Bahribaba Bus Stations will follow the route.
