Although it is difficult, we should consider social, environmental and economic development as a whole while making our transportation planning. In this sense, we should establish common international and regional policy standards that encourage multimodal and environmentally friendly transportation systems, support technological developments and new generation practices, ensure fair competition conditions, and prioritize safety and security in transportation. ”

“So much so that even the name of the ministry responsible for transportation varies significantly in each country, and the scope and duties of institutions change.
Therefore, the relationship of the ministry responsible for transport within a country to other ministries differs in this context. As a result, there may be political differences in the integration of transnational transportation policies. However, what is certain in every country is the difficulties in co-ordinating the relations of each minister of transport with local administrations. ”

“There is an important role for civil society organizations”

Arslan stated that a new understanding and a new modeling is needed for effective international governance in the field of transportation in the world and that an important role has been played by non-governmental organizations in this interface.
