Professor Dr. WHO IS İLHAN KOCAARSLAN?
He was born in Kırıkkale in 1964. He graduated from Yıldız Technical University Electrical Engineering Department in 1983. In 1985, he completed his Master's Degree Education in YTU with his thesis on Feeding and Drive Systems in Electric Transportation Systems. He completed his second Master's degree in 1986 at Bochum Ruhr University in Germany and doctorate in 1991.
He worked as Project and Department Manager at Babcock Prozessautomation Company in Germany between 1991-1997. He worked in nearly 30 projects in Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, Abu Dhabi, Greece, Taiwan and China for various periods. In 1993, while working abroad, he received the title of Associate Professor. In 1995, he patented “Regulation of speed of coal crushing mill having fluid torque converter”. He received the title of Professor in 1999.
He served as the Head of the Electrical Facilities Division, the Head of the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department, and the Dean of the Engineering Faculty. He served as a member of the University Executive Board, University Senate, Faculty Board, Institute of Science and Technology Board.
He worked as a sector consultant at TOBB. He also worked on the TCDD High Speed Train Project. He was the Executive of the Safety Management System Project established in TCDD according to European Union Standards.
Since 2008, he has been working as a lecturer in Istanbul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He speaks German and English. Dr. İlhan KOCAARSLAN is married and has four children.
