1915 Targets of Canakkale Bridge

Targets of the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge: Kınalı - Tekirdağ - Çanakkale - Savaştepe Highway Malkara - Çanakkale Highway (including 1915 Çanakkale Bridge) Project route; The current O-3 (TEM) starts from the Kınalı-1 Junction region of the Istanbul - Edirne Motorway. The route, which passes between Marmara Ereğlisi and Çorlu settlements and moves westward, continues from the north of Tekirdağ provincial center, after passing from the south of Malkara, from the north of Şarköy, reaches the Gelibolu Peninsula from the east of Evreşe. The highway, which runs through the north of Bolayır and Gallipoli, reaches the Çanakkale Strait Bridge between Sütlüce and Şekerkaya. The length of the 2023 Çanakkale Bridge, whose central span is 1915 meters, reaches 5,2 kilometers along with the approach viaducts. After the bridge, the route passes through the south of Lapseki and ends with the connection to Çanakkale.

Project Goals
In terms of population and economy, Turkey's largest city of Istanbul, Turkey's highway connecting to the agricultural and industrial region Istanbul and will increase the value of the associated province. It will also provide important socio-economic contributions. When the project is evaluated together with the other motorways whose tender is completed and planned, it will be a new alternative to the Bosphorus pass, especially in the Aegean, Central Anatolia, Adana - Konya axis and Western Mediterranean Regions and Thrace / European freight and passenger transportation. The project not only for Turkey, the European Union and especially our neighbors are important in terms of Bulgaria and Greece. This route is also a corridor where traffic on a part of the existing Edirne - Istanbul - Ankara highway section can be directed.

Project Outcomes
With the realization of Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Balıkesir Highway Project;

• A new alternative to the Bosporus pass through the European and Thrace, to the west of the Aegean and Central Anatolia, towards the Adana-Konya axis and the Western Mediterranean Regions will be established.

• Social and economic progress will be accelerated in Thrace and Western Anatolia region, where the important service, industry and tourism sectors of our country are heavily involved.

• Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Balıkesir Motorway will be connected to the Gebze-İzmir Motorway in the vicinity of Balıkesir and the distance between tourism centers such as İzmir, Aydın and Antalya will be reduced and the tourism sector will be improved.

• The existing Istanbul-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale Highway continues mostly from the residential areas and the beach, and the motorway will be re-established in terms of vehicle operating costs and travel time.
