İGA Airports Construction CEO Yusuf Akçayoğlu announced on NTV live broadcast that the number of employees will be increased from 23 thousand to 30 thousand. Making important statements to NTV about the latest status of the construction of the 3rd airport in Istanbul, İGA Airports Construction CEO Yusuf Akçayoğlu said that the 3rd airport will create employment opportunities for 100 thousand people.

Yusuf Akçaoğlu: “The latest situation in construction continues at the same time, without waiting for each other. 3 thousand people work at the 22rd airport. As you know, we had increased the number of our personnel to around 23 thousand before the winter months, but our number of personnel decreased directly due to the heavy winter conditions. Now, we want to get 7 thousand more people very quickly and reach 30 thousand. We want to break the record of employment in Turkey.

As you know, we had an independent organization conduct an economic analysis here. When we include the other sectors it will trigger when it is finished, an economy that will alone meet 4.9 percent of the gross national product is being created here. We are on the largest area allocated for airport construction in the world. Six runways and 2 terminals will fit here. We will be able to serve 90 million passengers here at first. Once it is completely finished, we will have a passenger capacity of over 200 million.”
