The name of Martyr Er Ali Çelik was given to İZBAN Line Vehicle Underpass: Ali Çelik, who was martyred in Hakkari Yüksekova in 1997, will be alive in the highway underpass built by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in his hometown Torbalı. Osman Çelik, who lived a bittersweet happiness due to his son's name given in the underpass to be opened on Thursday, thanked Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu for his sensitivity.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality connected 4543 streets and 3677 streets, which were cut by the İZBAN line in Torbalı Tepeköy Neighborhood, with a "pedestrian crossing with road underpass and disabled lift". Metropolitan Municipality, which met an important need in the district, gave the name of Şehit Er Ali Çelik to the highway underpass, taking into account the demand from the local people. Father Osman Çelik, who lived the pride of giving the name of his son, who was martyred during his military service in Yüksekova in 1997, to such an important investment, thanked Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu for his sensitivity.

Ceremony combining two sides
The vehicle underpass, where İzmir Metropolitan Municipality connects the two sides of the İZBAN line in Torbalı, and the pedestrian underpass with a disabled elevator cost about 7.5 million TL with its infrastructure investments. Both facilities will be put into service at tomorrow (Thursday, February 16) at 12.00 with a ceremony attended by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu.

Ali Çelik, who was martyred during his military service in Yüksekova in 1997, was born in 1976 in the village of Torbalı Sağlık. Mother Elif Çelik could not overcome the health problems she experienced after her son was martyred and died soon after.
