Yenişehir district Office Ekinciler Caddesi was closed to vehicle traffic and new buildings and plazas began to replace the old buildings in the Office district on the basis of the rail system.
Cumali Atilla, who was appointed as the Mayor of Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality by the Ministry of Interior within the scope of the Decree Law, said in his statement after he took office last month. Only tram will pass through Ekinciler Street. After the announcement of “We will clear the area on Ekinciler Street from vehicle traffic”, renovation works have started on Ekinciler Street, which is the busiest street in Diyarbakır, in the district of Yenişehir.
The old and idle buildings are demolished and replaced with brand new plazas, while the interior and exterior facades of some buildings are being renewed.
Diyarbakır citizens expressed their satisfaction with the renovation work on the Ekinciler Street, they wanted to implement the tram project in the shortest time possible.
