Minister Arslan, BTK railway line 2 monthly business remains

Minister Arslan, we had 2 months of work left on the BTK railway line: Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan said, “We have about 2 months of work remaining on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line construction. We are working hard at the moment, but we are planning to finish the construction in March and April, taking into account the difficulties of winter conditions. " said.

Arslan made evaluations at the dinner given to Ankara representatives of press organizations at Çankaya Mansion.

Turkey Construction Industry Employers' Union (INTES) in a program attended recently, Armstrong voicing criticism of a phrase used regarding the public procurement process, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars talked about the difficulties experienced in the construction of the project.

Arslan stated that the tender processes of the project in question took 1 year after the supply tender was made due to the objections and said, “At the end of this period, the work started. While 70 percent of the work was done, the Administrative Court found the appellant right. 1 year passed with the evaluation process. It was lost for about 2-2,5 years until the construction started. At the end of 2,5 years, the Administrative Court said, "You will give the job to the first company." said. The administration liquidated the business of the company that had been doing business for 1 year, and the liquidation took 5-6 months. Later, the Council of State overturned the decision of the Administrative Court. The contract with the third company was terminated again, it was returned to the first company again. What did we get from all these processes? It caused the project to be delayed for more than 3 years. The company that won the tender for the last 8 months has been working with extraordinary effort. The original target was 2012. But the project was delayed due to the tender processes. Now we have a job for about 2 months. We are currently working intensely, but we plan to finish the construction in March and April, taking into account the difficulties of winter conditions. " he spoke.

Arslan pointed out that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line is an important link in the "middle corridor" and stated that the project will go further through Kars-Tbilisi-Baku.

Giving information about the details of the project, Arslan said, “After Kars, they will split one line to Baku, and after Baku, they will divide it into two, which can go to the continuation of Central Asia and China via both Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. There will be a serious freight movement, we carry around 26,5 million tons of freight on railways. The load that only Kazakhstan says "I will give to this line" is 10 million tons per year. If we take 10 percent of the cargo that China sends overseas, I do not count America, it sends to the EU, 240 million tons of containers, which means 24 million tons of container cargo. Other countries are taking positions accordingly, they are already renewing their lines, building new lines. Everyone acts accordingly because when you include the sea in the south and north corridor the road takes about 50 days, it takes about 45-62 days to send a cargo from China to England, Germany, France. It takes 12-15 days if you send it through the middle aisle. In about a quarter of the time, the freight will be delivered to the desired address. " used the expression.

"We think and do projects as part of the transportation corridors in the world"

When asked about US President Donald Trump's comments on his promises to build bridges and highways to his voters, Minister Arslan said:

“What Trump said is important to Americans. From our point of view, the policy and strategy it will follow in this geography and in the world is much more important than the roads in America, it is what really binds us. However, when it comes to the roads and bridges, we, as transporters, always had trouble with this, everyone knows the truth, but when it comes to implementation, when it comes to doing what is necessary to make this geography a bridge, we could not find the support we wanted. I can say that the support provided to transportation for the last 14 years is really the supports and figures that no one has imagined. That's why our country has come to a good point in terms of transportation and access opportunities. In all types of transportation, we think and make all of our corridors as part of the transportation corridors in the world, as in the Middle corridor. Our satisfaction is that we have done most of it, less and less complement each other as we do. As transportation routes are integrated into transportation corridors, they become much more economical and useful. Users' life becomes much more comfortable. Everyone knows here, why the third airport was being opposed, why the bridges were being opposed, why the tunnels were being opposed? Because these are complementary to the great corridors. Transport corridors are also indispensable for the economy, development, trade and industry. As transporters, we have been well aware of this for 14 years. "

Arslan, this year to reach 37 billion pounds allocated budget, said they were previously unimaginable figures.

Has been made with the latest technology of transportation investments in Turkey Arslan striking, she said:

“If America has just seen this, I cannot say anything. But it hasn't seen much new. Let's get to a more real point, maybe they did it long before us, they came to a certain point of satisfaction and said 'enough'. However, it is never enough. Maybe that's what Trump means; "It is not enough, we have to make new additions on it." Because I see, we follow Europe with envy, there are 100 years old 80 years old subways but also 100 years old subways… They come to our subways, when they visit the roads they say 'Made with high standards of exceptional quality'. It is a case that we are late, but because we do it with today's technology, it is much higher quality than them. We have to turn the disadvantage of being late in development into an advantage and do it with the latest technology. We have been doing this in the last 14 years. As the government, as long as this much support is given to the Ministry, I hope we will do much better. There are many studies in which we do many study projects. They are all parts of a whole. When we look at it one by one, it looks like a small one, but they are complementary to the big legend.
