Train line in smuggling: Among the 29 people detained as a result of the operation carried out by the Edirne Police Department against cigarette and alcohol smuggling since last July, 6 officers from TCDD Kapıkule Station Directorate and 1 officer from Sirkeci Station Directorate were arrested and put in prison.

The statement made by the Edirne Police Department said:
“In the studies conducted by the KOM Branch Directorate of our Directorate for the crime of Customs Smuggling, some security officers at the TCDD Kapıkule Station Directorate condone the illegal passage of smuggled drinks and cigarettes and gained benefits in return for this transaction, and the customs illegal goods brought with them by the persons entering and leaving our country by train An investigation was initiated upon learning that they helped them pass through customs, they also stored customs and cigarettes and sold them to the domestic market, as a result of the technical and physical follow-up studies on the suspects for 3 months, a total of (29) suspects, including civil servants, were identified and In line with the instructions of the Public Prosecutor, a total of 20 suspects were arrested and detained in operations carried out in Istanbul, Kırklareli, our city and its districts as of 2016 July 29, and a total of 751 bottles of customs net alcohol, 35 kg handmade wine, 56 electronic cigarettes and apparatus, 53 7.65 mm diameter pistol cartridges, 9 9mm diameter pistol cartridges, 1 blank firing gun, 200 blank firing gun cartridges, 32 Bulgarian drink banderols, 140 Euro was seized and seized.

19 of the suspects who were taken into custody were released after their procedures were completed in our Directorate, and the officers from TCDD Kapıkule Station Directorate were sent to İ. A., M. Ş., AY, MF, H. Ç., S. Ö., And TT, who was an officer in TCDD Sirkeci Station Directorate, and 10 suspects, AK, HA, FS, who acted with these persons, 27 December 2016 İ. Officers named A., M. Ş., AY, MF, S. Ö., TT were arrested, and suspects named H. Ç., AK, HA, FS were released after a judicial control decision was made.
