Latest 30 days in Eurasia Tunnel Project

Last 30 days in the Eurasia Tunnel Project: The Eurasia Tunnel has started counting days for the opening, 20 days left for the opening of the Eurasia Tunnel, which Prime Minister Yıldırım said will be opening on December 100, which will reduce the 15-minute road to 30 minutes and will be the solution to the traffic problem of millions of Istanbul.

While the works are continuing at full speed in the project, which will be opened to transportation one month later, Samatya underpass and overpass were completed and put into service. In Yenikapı, the construction continues in the underpass that is under construction and will take the traffic underground.

While the huge traffic load of Istanbul is increasing from the problem to the size of the casing, dressing continues with mega projects. Firstly, Marmaray Project was designed and implemented for the passage of the train to the Bosphorus under the sea. Later, new solutions continued to be produced and while the Gulf Crossing Bridge was being implemented, it was lastly traced to Istanbul with the 3rd Geryard Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. All of these projects are completely interconnected. The completion of special connection roads continues.

The opening order came to the Eurasia Tunnel

The giant project, which will be opened by Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım on December 20, which will ease the traffic of Istanbul and allow the passage of vehicles from under the sea, is only 30 days left for the opening. As the Eurasia Tunnel connection roads and intersections begin to enter one service, the journey time will decrease from 100 minutes to 15 minutes on the route where the traffic is very busy in Istanbul.

Immediately after the completion of the tunnel construction under the cool waters of the Bosphorus Strait at a depth of 106 meters under the sea, the works of their productions continue on the fast roads on the land. While the total length of the project that will serve between Göztepe and Kazlıçeşme is 14,5 km, 5.4 km of it was built under the sea floor. The project consists of two-lane and two-storey tunnels, where cars and vans will pass. While the deepest part of the bridge under the sea will be 2 meters above sea level, the tunnel will offer the opportunity to pass under 106 meters below the sea floor.

Construction of connection roads continues rapidly

Upper and lower pass studies for vehicles and pedestrians were accelerated. The approach roads between Sarayburnu-Kazlıçeşme and Harem-Göztepe were expanded, intersections, vehicle underpasses and pedestrian overpasses were built. Works continue at Yenikapı junction, which is one of the biggest junctions of the project. The junction with falling asphalt and only fine workplaces takes the traffic completely underground. The upper part of the junction will be opened to pedestrian traffic only by making landscape arrangements. In many parts of the project, “Eurasia Tunnel” signs were installed, but they were closed until the opening.

Safety at the tunnel

In the tunnel, the operation center will work 24 hours a day for the safe operation of the tunnel and the flow of traffic without interruption. There will be safety lanes located every 600 meters, emergency evacuation system that extends between the lower and upper floors, and an emergency evacuation system along the tunnel, and general announcement system for instant information flow. In addition, the tunnel has a communication and notification system that can be accessed from every point, a closed circuit television system where every point of the tunnel is monitored 7 × 24, and event detection systems, fire resistant surface coating, and special fire extinguishing systems that are easily accessible from every point of the tunnel. Due to its proximity to the tunnel fault lines, it was built to withstand an earthquake of 9 magnitude according to the richter scale.

In the opening year of the Eurasia Tunnel, the prices for the tunnel toll are determined as 4 Dollars plus VAT for cars in one direction and 6 dollars plus VAT for minibuses.
