Pendik metro opens

Pendik subway opens: Kartal Yakacık-Pendik Tavşantepe subway will be opened at the end of the month. Thanks to the line Kadıköy Travel time between Pendik will decrease to 35 minutes.
Following the works carried out by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), the Kartal-Yakacık-Pendik-Tavşantepe (Kaynarca) metro line is preparing for opening. President Erdogan is expected to attend the opening ceremony at the end of September.
TEST DRIVES COMPLETED
Kadıköy- Work on the Kartal-Yakacık-Pendik-Tavşantepe (Kaynarca) metro line, which is a continuation of the Eagle line, started in May 2013. The test drives that started after the completion of the construction and technical infrastructure works were concluded successfully. It was stated that the metro line, where small-scale regulations continue, will be put into service at the end of September.
WILL BE CONNECTED WITH MARMARAY AND METROBUS
With 16 station Kadıköy- With the integration of the Kartal metro with Tavşantepe, the number of stations will increase to 19. In this way Kadıköy-Tavşantepe will be connected to each other with a 26,2 km rail.
With the opening of the metro line Kadıköy- Travel time between Pendik will be reduced to 35 minutes. In addition, the metro line will be connected to the metrobus from Pendik, Ünalan stop and to the marmaray from the Ayrılıkçeşme stop. Uninterrupted transportation will be provided from Pendik to central areas such as Üsküdar, Taksim and Atatürk Airport by metro. On the other hand, it will extend from Tavşantepe to Sabiha Gökçen Airport and KadıköyWork continues on the metro line, which will provide uninterrupted access from the airport to the airport.
