The train services of the State Railways between Ankara and Izmir could not be carried out for about three years due to the ongoing works between Kütahya and Balıkesir. During this period, expansion and electrification and signalization systems work on the road has ended. According to the information received from the authorities of the General Directorate of State Railways, the electrification and signaling systems of the 110-kilometer Dursunbey-Tavsanli railway, located in the middle of the Izmir-Manisa-Balikesir-Kutahya-Eskisehir-Ankara line, have been completed. According to the information received from Dursunbey Station Chief, it was stated that while the test drives continue before the Raybus project, which will start on this route, the old mail train will start again. Stating that the postal train will start from September 1, officials said that the train going to Kütahya will depart at 08.00 in the morning. The train going to Balıkesir will depart from Dursunbey station at 20.00 in the evening.
