The Chinese demanded the Izmir-Antalya high-speed train line: There was a significant development in the giant project that will bring great convenience to the Aegean Region transportation. The Chinese wanted the highway and high-speed train line planned to be built between Izmir and Antalya. Attending the G20 Trade Ministers Summit held in Shanghai, China, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci announced that they discussed both projects with Chinese officials. Zeybekci said, “China has strong demand for İzmir-Antalya High Speed Train and Highway lines. We, as the Ministry of Economy, will follow this up ”. In the high-speed train project, İzmir will be connected to Antalya via Denizli. In the motorway project, the highway between İzmir and Aydın will be extended to Antalya via Denizli.
