A Dream Ride, Bernina Train

A dream journey started with my vision in a documentary: The Bernina Train. I said, "I have to go, I must get on this train." After a short research, I immediately took the route and told several of my friends. Finally, I also saw that with the participation of my friends from Paris and Düsseldorf, we became seven people on the Bernina Train… With a bright red train starting from Heidi's green slopes, Chur, the small city of Switzerland between the Alps and ending in Tirano, Italy. peaceful adventure has begun.

I have been involved in the culture of 24 countries so far, but this was one of the trips that I said “never end”. I had a peaceful and refreshing time along the way. Many of my friends, who heard that we would go to Europe only for a train on the weekend, "Do you go for two days?" he said. Pass two days, even one day for this train.

We bought our ticket for 102 liras six months ago and came to Zurich. We have arranged our accommodation from Ibis Budget City West to 35 Frank per person. We made our lake tour. We ate a piece of chocolate for 7 lira and our food for 150 lira. It was a little, but rather expensive. Moreover, it was not even luxury in a local place. Finally, we realized that we spent all our money in three hours. Even grocery stores are incredibly expensive. Your money is stamped and stuck without being fully aware. Fortunately, we only stayed here for half a day. And it's time for the anticipated moment: Bernina Express!

Normally 150 liras between Zurich and Chur. Between Chur and Tirano (i.e Bernina Express) is 225 lira. As the train is good, and as a person who travels a lot of places inexpensively, I said “not that much money is given”. I looked at the train and time information from the Rhaetian Railway site and compared it to 'DB Bahn' (German train routes). We bought tickets for Freiburg – Zurich, Zurich-Chur and Chur-Tirano for 90 lira from the DB Bahn site. We did not get on the Freiburg-Zurich part, but we got on the part from Zurich to Chur, and from Chur to Tirano, Bernina Express.

One of the most striking points of the Bernina train is the panoramic view of the wagons. You have to make a reservation in advance and the cost is 14 Frank. Another important point is that you should take the last wagon of the Bernina train, because you can see the rest of the train from the viaducts and the tunnels in a very nice way.
As we get off the train, the 'Panoramic Bus' appears before us. This bus also takes you through Lake Como to Lugano. It costs 14 francs. It is also possible to make the Bernina Train route by local trains. In short, we completed our journey starting from Zurich and ending in Lugano instead of 375 lira for 170 liras. We officially did Zurich, Tirano, Lugano and Milan in one day…

Some things are said to be lived as soon as they are told, for us this trip was one of them. Bernina was one of the most beautiful journeys of my life… You should definitely step into such a journey. You will not regret.
