Transport Minister Arslan traveled in Marmaray: Transport Minister Arslan traveled with citizens from the Ayrilik Cesmesi stop to the Yenikapi stop in Marmaray.
Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan, who got on Marmaray from the Separation Çeşmesi stop, said that seeing the smiles on the passengers' faces is not as happy as listening to their ease.
He expressed his satisfaction with the service of the citizens expressed sincerely, aiming to satisfy this satisfaction.
Arslan, noting that 141,5 million people have traveled in Marmaray so far, said, “Currently 181 thousand people are traveling a day. It's an extraordinary feeling. We have 219 trains running a day. Our expectations from Marmaray and the expectations of our people are much higher. When we finish and connect the suburban lines, Marmaray will carry several times more passengers than the current one. The technical success of Marmaray, which is a project that unites continents from the bottom of the world, is mentioned wherever you go in the world ”.

Indicating that they aim to put the suburban lines to the service of the citizens within about 2 years, Arslan said, “Obviously, the suburbs are going slowly. We held a meeting with the relevant people to speed this up. Citizens of Istanbul are also waiting for the suburbs to end as soon as possible. We are working hard to finish it as soon as possible. Hopefully, we will put it to the service of our people within 2 years ”.
Arslan said, “We have a serious work with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to connect all rail systems to each other and turn them into rings” and emphasized that after this happens, citizens cannot give up public transportation.

Arslan traveled with the citizens until the Yenikapı stop in Marmaray, where he boarded. Asking citizens questions about where they came from, where they were going, whether they were satisfied with the transportation services, Arslan also listened to their demands.

Citizens also said that they were very pleased with Marmaray, that they traveled between two sides by using alternatives such as buses, ferries, and metrobus, and that they can only reach the places they can go with Marmaray in advance.
Stating that their travels have become very short, the citizens said that negative factors such as adverse weather, traffic accidents and bridge traffic do not affect them, and that they can travel under the sea between Europe and Asia by taking Marmaray at any time they want.
