Osmangazi Bridge will reduce industrial pressure: On the bridge, which is ranked 4th among the world's largest medium span suspension bridges, preparations have been completed before the opening, which is planned to be held on June 30, with a ceremony attended by President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Yıldırım. Thanks to the bridge connecting Yalova and Kocaeli on both sides of the Izmit Bay, the industrial load in Gebze and Dilovası districts is expected to be reduced.
With the opening of the Osmangazi Bridge, the largest leg of the Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir Highway Project, which will reduce the transportation time between Istanbul and Izmir from 9 hours to 3,5 hours, it is aimed to reduce the industrial load in Gebze and Diloavası districts of Kocaeli.
The bridge, which ranks 39th among the world's largest medium span suspension bridges, which was completed in about 4 months, has completed the preparations before the opening, which is planned to be held on June 30, with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.
Thanks to the bridge that connects Yalova and Kocaeli on both sides of the Izmit Bay, the industrial load in Gebze and Dilovası is expected to be reduced.
Dilovası District Governor Harun Şahin stated that the Gulf will have its necklace on June 30 and that they are very proud and happy as the people of the region. The last three dates throughout the year Sahin said that they witnessed, the only bridge that is located between the giant projects in the world not only in Turkey, told the history of the world is home to a bridge they were doing. Şahin emphasized that the bridge has very positive effects on the region and stated that the land and housing prices have increased in Dilovası, where the bridge can be seen most clearly.
"It will also reduce the industrial pressure in the region"
Pointing out that there will be a very large flow of people to this region, Şahin said:
“Shopping malls are built right next to the bridge. I guess nearly a thousand personnel will work in the shopping mall here. This employment will be provided from our locations. In addition, there are only 5 OIZs in Dilovası. If we count Gebze and even Tuzla, nearly 20 OIZs are in this region. Gebze and Dilovası are now saturated, a region where industrial parcel prices are also very high and industrialists are now experiencing serious difficulties. With this bridge, this wealth, these opportunities will flow towards the other side. We hear about the establishment of an OIZ in Yalova, Balıkesir. This will somewhat reduce the industrial pressure in our region. It will raise the livability standard of the region. "
Gebze Mayor Adnan Köşker emphasized that the bridge was completed in a short time.
Köşker stated that this region was also an important place in terms of history, that Fatih Sultan Mehmet valued this region, and that the Ottoman Empire started its establishment from here.
"The bridge contributes to the solution of all problems"
Pointing out that Gebze is an industrial city, Köşker emphasized the importance of the bridge, one of the transportation axes of 13 OIZs.
Köşker stated that there will be a serious relief in transportation after the bridge is opened and that they know the days when there are queues up to D100 in front of the ferries during the holidays.
Pointing out that citizens seriously care about the necklaces of Izmit Bay, Köşker said, “Even the citizen who will never pass here is concerned. Because Eskihisar is a coastal city. We have a beach. In the evenings, the citizens will see Kocaeli's illuminated Bosphorus Bridge while drinking their tea there. The taste of that tea will be different. It doesn't look like the Bosphorus. There is an excellent view in summer. It will become an area that our citizens living in Istanbul and other provinces want to see. It has a different beauty. " found the assessment.
Köşker stated that Gebze is the place where Kocaeli's most expensive residences and plots are located, they cannot produce land, and urban transformation works should be done.
Stating that OSB will be established in Yalova, Köşker completed his words as follows:
“However, there will be a significant transition from OIZs in Gebze to Yalova OIZ. Because there is no place left in Gebze. OIZs are full. The industrialists in Gebze are in search of new areas for new investments since they cannot make new investments in growing facilities. The closest place for this will be Yalova after this bridge. This bridge will provide both the economic development and development of a city. Worker transport will be easier. The bridge contributes to the solution of all problems. "
