Opening year in mega projects: 2016 will be the opening year in mega projects. A significant portion of the 'giant projects' whose first steps have been taken by the Ministry of Transportation will be put into service this year. Tender processes will be launched this year at Kanal Istanbul and 1915 Çanakkale Bridge.

Mega projects will mark the snake in 2016.

The Gulf Crossing Bridge, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Eurasia Tunnel and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway projects are planned to be completed this year.

The Gulf Crossing Bridge is ranked 4th among the largest middle span suspension bridges in the world. Osman Gazi Bridge, which will allow to cross the Gulf in 6 minutes, is planned to be opened to traffic at the end of May.

Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, which was built in the Bosphorus as part of the Northern Marmara Motorway Project, will become the largest bridge in the world when it is finished. The bridge is expected to open on August 120, along with the 26-kilometer-long highway and connecting roads.

The Eurasia Tunnel Project is planned to be opened at the end of this year. The tunnel, which will connect the continents of Asia and Europe with a tube transition, will be the deepest tunnel under the sea. The project, which has a total length of 14.6 kilometers, is 3.4 kilometers under the sea. The project will have an annual economic contribution of 560 million liras to the region.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Project, which is called the 'Iron Silk Road', is planned to be opened at the end of this year. When the line is put into operation, 1 million passengers and 6,5 million tons of cargo can be carried.

Meanwhile, tender processes will be launched this year at Kanal Istanbul and 1915 Çanakkale Bridge.
