Karabük Zonguldak railway line was opened on 27.04.2016 with a ceremony attended by Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication Binali Yıldırım. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yıldırım; He said that the European Union (EU) supported approximately 550 million lira for the Irmak-Karabük-Zonguldak Railway Line Rehabilitation and Signalization Project.
