Preparations for the Adapazarı - Istanbul North Crossing Railway Project, which is planned to be constructed by the General Directorate of TCDD, continue.

Environmental Impact Assessment process has started and EIA Application File has been opened to public opinion. A Public Participation Meeting will be held on 10 May 2016 in order to inform the people about the project and to get their opinions and suggestions.

Adapazarı-Istanbul North Crossing Railway project; The Sincan - Çayırhan - İstanbul Railway Project, which aims to connect Ankara and Istanbul Provinces, covers the planned line within the administrative boundaries of Kocaeli and İstanbul Provinces between Ankara - Kocaeli (1-section) and Sarıyer Başakşehir (3rd section).

The route of the project, which will start from Kartepe District in Kocaeli Province, Kocaeli Province, Izmit, Derince. After the Gulf and Gebze Districts pass, Istanbul Province will pass Tuzla, Pendik, Sultanbeyli, Kanal, Sancaktepe, Maltepe, Ataşehir, Ümraniye and Çekmeköy Districts and end in Beykoz District (the beginning of the 3rd Bridge).

The planned route covers the 0 + 000 and the 111 km 589.12 km long line. During the construction process of the project, 111.589,12 m12.118.280 excavation and 3 m3.452.294 filling is planned.

The sections where the topography or field qualification is not suitable will be passed through structures such as tunnels or viaducts and 19 viaducts and 23 tunnels will be built. 17 underpasses and 13 overpasses will be constructed in order to prevent pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the parts of the railway line that intersect the highway. Within the scope of the project, the project was designed in two separate lines as arrival and departure for the transportation of both cargo and passengers and according to my high speed train standards. With the completion of the project, it is aimed to reduce the travel time between Ankara and Istanbul to 2 hours. The planned line will start from Kartepe District of Kocaeli Province and pass through İzmit, Derince, Körfez, Dilovası and Gebze Districts and enter Istanbul borders. The line, which enters Istanbul Province from Tuzla District, will pass through Pendik, Sultanbeyli, Kartal, Sancaktepe, Maltepe, Ataşehir, Ümraniye, Çekmeköy and Beykoz Districts and reach the 1,5rd Bridge under construction.
