It was announced that the entire metro line in Washington DC, the capital of the USA, will not serve for at least 24 hours from midnight tonight for maintenance and repair of electrical cables.
In a statement about the metro system, General Manager Paul Wiedefeld announced that this decision was taken on Monday after a fire caused by electricity in the subway. Authorities announced that the cable will be maintained around 600.
It was noted that the subway was closed for the first time since 1976, when it started service, except for bad weather.
