Explosion in Brussels' Maelbeek Metro: An explosion occurred in the subway after a twin explosion at the airport in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. 20 people died in the explosion, 55 people were injured.
After the twin explosion that took place this morning at Zaventem Airport in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, a new explosion also occurred on the subway. 20 people died and 55 were injured in the explosion in the subway. It was stated that the explosion took place at the Maelbeek metro station, which is close to the European Union institutions. The EU Commission warned its employees to be careful and not to go out. Transport officials in Brussels announced that all metro and train services in the city have been stopped.
Maelbeek is known as a neighborhood in Brussels where citizens of Arab origin live.

Saying that there are many dead and injured in the explosions in Brussels, Prime Minister Michel said, “It is a dark day for Belgium. It is a blind and cowardly attack. ” Michel also stated that additional soldiers were sent to Brussels.
Meanwhile, Michel called for a national security meeting. The relevant ministers in the government are attending the national security meeting.
