Edirneli tradesmen's joy of high-speed train: Emin İnağ, President of the Union of Chambers of Edirne Tradesmen and Craftsmen, said that Minister Yıldırım's statements about high-speed train excited them.
Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ETSO) Chairman Recep Zıpkınkurt emphasized the importance of the high-speed train project for the city and said, “The number of historical monuments in our city is the border gate that opens to Europe. I think Edirne will jump ages with the high-speed train. ”
In his statement, Zıpkınkurt thanked the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, for his explanation that the construction of high-speed trains from Istanbul to Edirne will begin this year.
Stating that the high-speed train will positively affect trade in Edirne, Zıpkınkurt said:
“The arrival of the high-speed train in Edirne will suddenly change the face of the city. High speed train will change the trade of Edirne. This topic concerns me the most. As the President of ETSO, I want Edirne to move forward and develop in trade. High speed train project is very important for our city. As it is known, we are close to 250 kilometers to Istanbul and there is a 2-hour road trip. If 20 percent of the tourists coming to Istanbul come to Edirne by high-speed train, they revive Edirne. In our city, both the number of historical monuments and our city is the border gate opening to Europe. I think Edirne will jump ages with the high-speed train. ”
Explaining that the service sector in the city will come to the fore with the returns of the high-speed train, Zıpkınkurt said, “Service investments and hotel investments will be made. The service sector will come to the fore. Along with these, many commercials will be built. This news is very pleasing since I am an Edirnese and also happy to be the owner of some companies doing business in Edirne. ”

Expressing that the high-speed train is a project that will fly Edirne from all directions, İnağ said, “High-speed train means Edirne rises up. It means the valuation of all kinds of Edirne products, goods and land ”.
Expressing that Edirne is among the provinces with the highest number of tourists, İnağ pointed out that these numbers will increase 10 times with the arrival of the high-speed train.
Tradesman said that they should make some preparations before the arrival of the fast train Inag, said:
“The products produced here will gain much more value when the high speed train arrives. It will put Edirne into the neighborhood of Istanbul. Production will increase in our cheese, vegetables, fruits and cookies. Preparations should be completed, especially in the food and tourism industry. We do this from time to time. We train our staff, give certificates. I think all relevant sectors should make the necessary preparations before the high-speed train arrives. ”
