Clean solution to climate change from IETT: Istanbul Electric Tram and Tunnel Operations (IETT) will provide approximately 6 thousand 250 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per year with the wind turbine installed in Kartal Platform Area.
According to the statement made by IETT, it is aimed to meet the electricity need in the business by increasing the number of clean energy resources and thus combat climate change.
Having previously installed wind turbines at Beylikdüzü Metrobüs Park Site, IETT will generate electricity independently from the city network with a 2,4 kilowatt wind turbine in Kartal. The system will also be supported by 6 kilowatt solar panels.
According to the annual energy production amount, the system will prevent the emission of about 3 thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide gas per year and provide the contribution of the 250 tree.
IETT, which has been serving in Istanbul for 145 years, has announced that it will continue projects for the efficient use of resources for the 2023 vision, setting out with the principle that covers economy, ecology, energy and efficiency.
