Nazilli's Historical Gıdı Gıdi Train was put into service again: The train, which was laid in the city to transport workers to the former Sümerbank Press Factory in Nazilli district of Aydın, was renamed as “Gıdı Gıdı” among the public and started again.

Nazati Municipality, Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ) and TCDD have used the Gıdı Gıdı Train, the last mechanic of the Gıdı Gıdı Train, which has been renewed with a collaboration that has been continuing for a year. The train leaving from Sümerbank stop went up to Aydın-Nazilli highway.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Alıcık said that they were happy for protecting the history. Stating that it is important to keep such memories alive, Alıcık said, “We have run our Gıdı Gıdı Train as our university, TCDD and municipality. Now, we want this train to start again and move our students to ADÜ Sümer Campus. We also want a printing museum to be established in Nazilli for our printing factory opened by Atatürk. ” said.

In the meantime, the former printing factory transferred to ADU is used as the Sumer Campus. Gıdı Gıdı Train will also bring students here from the district center.
