Test Drive on the New Tram Line in Slovakia Begins: The test runs of the tram line, which will increase the city rail system in Bratislava, Slovakia, began in February. There are even 16 stations with a length of 2,4 km and there are double rails on most parts of the line. The opened line starts from Safarikovo Namesti in the south of Bratislava and passes through the 3 meter Old Bridge bridge.
The construction of the line started in December of 2013. The total cost of 76,8 million euros, the total cost of 63 million euros was met by the European Union fund. The line is scheduled to be put into service in the following March or April after the test runs are finished.
