Munich Tram Network Grows: The foundation of the line to be built to expand the tram network in Munich, Germany, was laid on February 26. The groundbreaking ceremony was held near the headquarters of Süddeutsche Verlag, with the participation of Mayor Dieter Reiter, MVG Chairman Herbert König and Süddeutsche Verlag head of public relations, Stefan Hilscher.
The 2,7 km long line will connect Max-Weber-Platz and Berg am Laim. It is expected that the total journey time will be 8 minutes and even 7000 passengers per day. The total cost of the project is estimated to be 18 million euros.
