The second revision plan for the part of the Eurasia Tunnel Project in Zeytinburnu and Fatih districts was submitted to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council in May 2015. The revision was forwarded to the Directorate of Conservation of Cultural Heritage No.4 in Istanbul. While the plan change was still in the evaluation of the board, a new revision was made in the project.
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT WANTED A VISION
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization asked the IMM for parliamentary decisions and institutional views for its third revision. The revision related to the Eurasia Tunnel Project was brought to the agenda at the IMM Assembly meeting on February 12.
In the plan report prepared by the Ministry, it was stated that the expropriation on the European side was kept to a minimum and the project was extended to the southern areas where there was no private property, so the area was enlarged.
FLEXIBILITY TO THE EYES
On the Anatolian side, it was announced that the construction approach distance was changed to protect the underground tunnels, and the intersection designs were expanded due to the repositioning of Üsküdar Junction technical equipment buildings where the toll booths will be located.
It was stated in the planning that the main elements of the project were adhered to, and during the implementation phase, flexibility was brought to the lower or upper crossroads that may change depending on the conditions. The 1.3 billion dollar Eurasia Tunnel, which will connect Asia and Europe with the underground highway tunnel, is planned to be completed in 2017.

The total passage length will be 14.6 km and the tunnel part will be 5.4 km.
