Swiss Company BLS Decides For Electric Train Tender: With the certificate approved on February 2, Switzerland's largest private railway company BLS reduced the tender for the purchase of 60 trains to be produced for use in S-Bahn and regional railways to 4 companies. Alstom, Bombardier, Stadler and Siemens companies were selected for the electric trains to be produced.
The result of the tender for electric trains with 60 units of 100 m to be used in Swiss Railways will be announced at the end of next year. Trained trains should be delivered between 2021 and 2026 years.
The trains will be used on the S2, S4 and S5 lines of the Bern S-Bahn railway. It will also be used on regional railways such as Brig, Zweisimmen and Thun.
