Italian Railways and Iranian Railways Signed a New Deal

Italian Railways and Iranian Railways Sign a New Agreement: A new agreement was signed on February 9 between Italian Railways (FS) and Iran Islamic Republic Railways (RAI). According to the agreement signed by Dr Mohsen Pour Seyed Aghaei, President of Iran Railways, and Renato Mazzoncini, CEO of Italian Railways, in Tehran, the capital of Iran, the agreement was reached for the development of Italian Railways, Iranian Railways, modernization of high-speed train lines and the production of trains for the needs of the country.
Italy Railways will support Iranian Railways on the design and construction of a high-speed train line between Tehran-Hamedan and Qom-Arak. In addition, Italferr, a sub-company of the Italian Railways, will conduct joint works with Iranian Railways on the 400 km-long Tehran-Qom-Isfahan high-speed train line. The total price of the agreements will be 5 billion Euros.
