Frankfurt Train Station is being renovated: The Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof - Frankfurt Train Station, which opened in Germany in 1888, is being renovated for 135 million Euros.

Frankfurt Train Station, one of the largest train stations in Europe and visited by 450 thousand passengers a day, is being renovated.

The renovation work, which will continue until 2020, will cost 135 million Euros. It is stated that 27,5 million of this money will be covered from the city vault, while the rest will be covered by the German Railways (DB).

According to the German news agency DPA, Mayor Olaf Cunitz, Transport Minister Stefan Majer and Treasurer Uwe Becker signed an agreement for the renovation the previous day.

It is announced that renovations will start next September.
