According to Anadolu Agency, the explosion occurred at the overpass near Bayrampaşa Metro station.

Regarding the incident, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin said, “An explosion occurred at the Kadife Junction. One of our citizens was slightly injured. The cause of the explosion is not yet known. We are evaluating all possibilities in this regard, ”he said.

In the statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, it was said, "The trips were stopped due to the explosion-like sound at the Istanbul Bayrampaşa metro station, the reason for the sound is not known yet."

Taxi driver Ali Kalaycıoğlu, who passed from the scene shortly after the explosion, stated that he saw a large number of police and ambulances around the 'overpass' 200 meters from the Bayrampaşa exit from Aksaray direction. I saw that the windows of the subway were broken, ”he said.
