TRANSPORTATION WILL RUN
In his statement, Eyüp Mayor Remzi Aydın explained that in addition to these lines, the works of 2 metro and 2 tram lines to be brought to the district by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality are continuing. Saying that the projects are expected to be completed in 2.5 years, Aydın drew attention to the fact that the cable car that has been serving Pierre Loti from Eyüp Square for 10 years is not enough for the region. Aydın said that because of the historical identity of the district, it receives many visitors, there are traffic difficulties, and works will be carried out to ease transportation and reveal the historical texture. In this context, Eyüp Square will be pedestrianized and bicycle paths will be built. 555 Another leg of the project is a new tram line from Eminönü to Alibeyköy along the coastline to Eyüp. Bicycle paths will also be created in parallel with the tram line.
