Accident 1 dead at level crossing in Manisa: In Salihli District of Manisa, 47-year-old Hüseyin Süngü died after being caught by the regional passenger train.
Eyewitnesses claimed that Süngü, who drank alcohol on the side of the railway, committed suicide by lying on the rails while the train was coming.
The incident occurred at around 17.30 near the Kurudere Level Crossing in Salihli District. Hüseyin Süngü, who was seen drinking alcohol on the side of the rails, died after being caught by the regional train coming from Eskişehir to İzmir. Eyewitnesses to whom the police took their testimony stated that Süngü, who drank alcohol for a while on the side of the railway, committed suicide by lying on the rails when he saw the train coming.
Süngü's body was sent to the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute Morgu for autopsy after the police and prosecutor investigated the scene. The driver of the train, which has no passengers, continued his journey from where he left after his statement at the police. The police reported that the investigation into Hüseyin Süngü's death continues.
