In Palandöken and Konaklı, which are among the important ski centers of the world, the 8.5-year-old spending before the season has been overhauled with the improvement of the tracks, the prevention of leakage of the water-repellent pond, and the maintenance and repair of the gondola that has not been operated because it has been risky for two years.
In 2011, Palandöken and Konaklı Ski Center, which hosted the World Universities Winter Games, were accelerated to complete the works due to snowfall. Palandöken, where 100 thousand people can ski on 13 different tracks, the longest of which is 45 kilometers, and Konaklı has two internationally registered ski tracks for slalom and big slalom races. Returning to the construction site in the summer season, Palandöken and Konaklı Ski Facilities Privatization Administration equipped all around the ski resorts with cameras. In Palandöken, the gondola lift, which has a capacity of 1500 passengers per hour, is 2 meters long and 900 cabins, each of which has 4 people, has been renewed by adding maintenance, repair and spare parts. In the maintenance and repairs that are tendered to an international firm, final checks are carried out before winter. The ground of the 140 thousand cubic meter pond, which was built on the Palandöken 'Mountain before the Winter Games, but has not been used for water since 4 years, has been renewed. Thanks to the large pond in Palandöken, which costs about 150 million TL, artificial snow will be poured during the seasons when there is no snowfall. During the repair work, the runways in Palandöken were widened and their length was increased. Cameras were placed on the tracks for security purposes, warning signs were placed. Eight snow vehicles, which were purchased for the correction of the runways and crushing the snow but could not be operated, were repaired and made ready for service. In addition, lift B in Konaklı was opened to ski lovers for the first time this year.
“PALANDÖKEN WORLD'S MOST SAFE SKI CENTER”
Emphasizing that they spent 8.5 million lira in Palandöken and Konaklı ski resorts in summer in order to provide a better service to domestic and foreign tourists who will come to Erzurum in the next ski season, Kemalettin Işık said:
“With the activities we started in June, we have made Palandöken and Konaklı the safest ski resorts in the world. We have completely renewed the gondola lift, which has been maintained and repaired for almost 18 years. In other words, it would be better to say that we changed the gondola lift. In addition, the pond for the 2011 winter games was not impounding. The pond was insulated. We drained the water underneath the body out of the body. This year, artificial snow pond will hold water for the first time. For security, we furnished the mountain with cameras. The tracks have been widened. From the snow waters, the tracks will no longer deteriorate, they were drained. We are waiting for ski lovers on very beautiful tracks. In 2011 winter games, there was B lift made in Konaklı Ski Center. The public was saying that 'the money of the state was thrown away, one side of the mountain was not working, it was not used, there was not even a track'. We also took care of him. I hope the lift B will be opened this season. Artificial snow making machines have been overhauled. No in Palandöken and Konaklı. Ski lovers who do not come to Palandöken or Konaklı in the winter should not say 'I skied'. We expect the occupancy rate of 90 percent in hotels to be 100 percent this year. ”
