Railway System from Exporters to Politicians

Railway System from Exporters to Politicians: The fact that the projects that will make the region a foreign trade center for the development of exports, which is the main input of the economy of the Eastern Black Sea Region, is not owned by the political sectors, is the reaction of exporters.

Making a statement on the subject, President of Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB) Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan said, “Today, world trade is concentrated in the Asian Region. In the future, with the activation of rich underground resources in the Caucasus, Central Asia and Asia Region, world trade will be concentrated in these regions. Our Eastern Black Sea Region, which is the bridge between Asia-Europe and the Black Sea-Mediterranean and at the intersection of three continents, is a distribution and transfer and supply center for Europe, Balkans, Black Sea, Caucasus, Caspian, Central Asia, Middle East and North African countries. He emphasized the importance of the region.

Expressing that they have developed and shared many projects with the public in order to bring these potentials to the economy of the region, Gürdoğan said, “Hopa-Batum railway connection, which I call as the New Silk Road that will transport our country and East Black Sea Region to Asia geography and the People's Republic of China with a very low cost investment; Development of the gate in accordance with the image of our country in order to eliminate the infrastructure deficiency in our Sarp Border Gate, which causes our exporters to wait in the queue for hours, which is not applied even in a backward country; Opening the Muratlı Border Gate for Georgia as soon as possible to reduce the density in the Sarp gate and to be used only for exits for export cargo transportation; Bringing a Logistics Center to the Region for international trade, which will increase the attraction of our region in terms of foreign trade; Besides the Kazbegi Lars Gate route, which will enable us to pass through the Russian Federation and the hinterland Turkic Republics and Asian countries via Georgia, other alternative projects (South Ossetia Gate, a new gate by Chechnya, a new gate by Dagestan), export of our regional projects. It was developed in order to reach the 30 targets. However, the fact that these projects are not embraced by politicians and not even brought to the agenda during this period is the subject of complaints and criticism of our exporters. Georgia's serve beside us who put it established referred to as the New Silk Road routes, Batumi-Kazakhstan / Almaty must necessarily extend to Turkey of Railway Line. It is also important that this railway line, which we believe will make an important contribution to our foreign trade for the Central Asian Region, from Batumi to Kazakhstan or even China. This importance is a confirmation of the fact that we are right in the idea of achieving the railway with the Hopa-Batum railway connection over the Eastern Black Sea Region through Georgia where we pioneered the idea and insistently emphasized on each façade. We have carried these issues to the public's attention countless times. We presented the situation to regional politicians. We stopped for years for the logistics center, railway new transportation routes, the need to expand to reduce the density of the Sarp Gate, the completion of the Muratlı Gate, the opening of alternative export routes, the integration of the Hopa-Batumi connection to the railway of the region, and the integration of the İpekyolu railway line. The Trabzon Logistics Zone project, which was largely agreed upon, whose feasibility was approved, and the investment decision was taken, was removed from the agenda of a recent maneuver. We have been beating up the water for many years about the realization of the railway project. Promise a lot, check too, support a lot, do not perform. These investments are vital, necessary and essential for the future of the regional economy. Investment projects should not remain in files and dusty folders. Regional politicians should own the projects of the exporter and carry them further. Because the economy of the region is going through a deep recession, even SOS.
