A New Era in Marseille

A New Era begins in Marseille Metro in France: With a new decision taken by the Marseille Transportation Department in France, the period of unattended travel for the metro line used in the city will start. With the decision taken as a result of the meeting held on September 25, it was agreed to change the metro vehicles in the city.

The first two lines in service in Marseille were in 1977, the second in 1984, and the end of their service period. For this reason, it is foreseen to change trains.

Even the tender for use will cover the 38 4'er wagon subway trains. The trains will be 75 meters long and will be produced with rubber tires. The delivery of the trains will take place between 2021 and 2024. In addition, the trains will be air-conditioned and contain passenger information screens.

The budget allocated for the project was announced as 286 million Euros. Apart from that, 86 has been announced for million euro installation, 73 for million Euro signaling and 6 million Euro for other line related expenses.
