Half of the Barracks in Gebze will Go to Exchange for Metro Activities: Science Industry and Technology Minister Fikri Işık said that half of the military area in Gebze will be exchanged for expropriations in the metro operation.

Minister Işık stated that they would expropriate for the stations needed in the subway work and aim to benefit from the public's existing facilities instead of spending huge amounts of money for expropriation due to the high value of the land in Gebze.

Minister Işık stated that they aim to use at least half of the barracks land as a city park. Stating that the metro network that will extend from Darica to Gebze North of Gebze and to the Sabiha Gökçen Airport will be integrated with the Istanbul subway, Mr. Işık mentioned that the medium or long term permanent solution to Gebze's traffic problem passes through the subway. he argued that criticism of the unfolding of housing will be unfounded.
