Land, sea, rail system and air transportation vehicles, which left their mark on the transportation history of Istanbul, will be exhibited at the Taksim Metro Art Gallery on Saturday, October 10 with the exhibition titled “Seyrü Sefer İstanbul from First Ferry to Marmaray.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kültür A.Ş. is opening the exhibition, which provides services in urban transportation since the 1820s and includes photos of land, sea, rail systems and air transportation vehicles identified with Istanbul at Taksim Metro Art Gallery. The exhibition titled “Seyrü Sefer İstanbul from the First Ferry to Marmaray” will include 300 nostalgic transportation vehicle frames and ephematic materials (old tickets, tokens, station, station and direction plates ..) collected from private collections. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, October 10 at 14.00:10. The exhibition and period collections prepared by researcher-writer Akın Kurtoğlu will meet with visitors at the Taksim Metro Art Gallery between 23-XNUMX October.
100 YEARS TRAILER TICKETS
The exhibition will include 100 annual equestrian tram tickets, cardboard ferry tickets used in city lines, bus tickets showing continental jumping points, throat bridge pass tickets and nostalgic tunnel tokens from 40 years ago.
VISITORS WILL GET THE FIRST MUNICIPAL BUS OF ISTANBUL
Art lovers of Istanbul, who visit the exhibition, will meet Istanbul's first city bus. The nostalgic vehicle, which is in the IETT private collection and witnessed the second world war, served the Istanbulites on the Beyazıt-Bakırcılar-Mercan-Eminönü Old Post Office line with a capacity of 26 people.
ISTANBUL'S 200 YEARS OF HISTORY WILL TELL AS CHRONOLOGY
Various transportation vehicles that marked the last two centuries of Istanbul in the exhibition will be presented to the visitors with a visual feast in 10-year time periods.
THE FIRST OF TRANSPORTATION WILL EXHIBIT
The exhibition, which includes the "firsts" of transportation, includes the first Turkish Trolleybus "Tosun", the first steamer of the Bosphorus, "Mist" and nostalgic squares of an Istanbul classic Leyla. In the exhibition, which aims to make Istanbul residents realize the city's transportation vehicles that have undergone great changes and feel the characteristics and beauty of the city they live in, the photos of old trams, trolley buses, buses, car ferries, suburban trains, minibuses, checkered taxis, minibuses, city lines ferries and phaetons is also included.
