Agenda of Sarıkamış: Chairlift Station Burned by Terror: Sarıkamış Tourism Association (SATURDER) convened at the Presidency of District Governor Yusuf İzzet Karaman.
At a meeting held in a hotel, the chair lift station, which was burned down by terrorists in Sarıkamış, was put on the table.
Sarıkamış District Governor Karaman said, “As all public institutions, we are making great efforts for the Yanan chair lift station to reach the season. I hope that we will bring our district, the land of martyrs and tourism paradise, to the place it deserves, by overcoming these difficult days altogether.
At the meeting, where the 2nd stage station damaged in the fire in Cıbıltepe Ski Center was raised to the winter season and the activities to be done before the season for winter tourism were discussed, Karaman said that with the public and private sector investments made in Sarıkamış in recent years, important progress has been made in tourism.
Sarikamish the history, nature and tourism potential of Turkey's eastern pupil underlines the Karaman, "Sarikamish as state and government made serious investments in tourism and continues to be done. However, the damage caused by the fire in the 2nd stage station in the ski center in September made us all very upset. Immediately after the incident, our Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Youth and Sports stepped in and provided the necessary support and contribution. Later, under the coordination of our Governor of Kars, Günay Özdemir, a study was initiated for damage assessment and the fastest defeat of the facility. As all public institutions, we are making great efforts to keep the Yanan chair lift station up to the season. I hope that we will bring our district, the land of martyrs and tourism paradise, to the place it deserves, by overcoming these difficult days altogether.
Mayor Göksal Toksoy also noted that as soon as the renovation of the 2nd stage upper station starts, all the team and equipment of the municipality will be mobilized and everyone living in these lands where the suspicion lies should act responsibly and sensitively.
Kars Culture and Tourism Provincial Director Hakan Doğanay underlined that the ministry, the governorship of Kars and the directorate have been working hard to train the chairlift to the season, and emphasized that whatever necessary will be done to make Sarıkamış the winter season thumping.
Stating that they have made their best efforts to solve the problems as all hotel operators and as an association, Association President Mir Hasan Taş said, “In Kars and Sarıkamış, tradesmen, tourism, hotel operators, taxi drivers, sleigh drivers and the people of the region earn all their profits in the winter season for about 6 months. Therefore, it has been linked to the ski resort of tourism. If the ski center stops for this purpose, life stops here. We, as an association, would like to thank the relevant ministries and our Governor of Kars, Mr. Günay Özdemir, the Sarıkamış District Governorship, the Municipality and the tourism professionals who contributed to the activation of the facilities.
