Work has started for Izmit tram: Works have started for Izmit Tram between Sekapark and Otogar. The company that started the construction site began to establish.
The construction of the tramway road which Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality will build on the 7 kilometer route between Sekapark and Otogar in Izmit has finally established the construction site. The contractor firm that undertakes the construction of the tramway road Gülermak Ağır Sanayi A.Ş. was established at the back of the Intercity Bus Terminal. This shows that the construction will start from the east of the city by the bus station.
Gülermak placed its containers on the construction site. However, even though the protocol was signed days ago, there is no indication that construction has started yet. There is not a single worker on the contractor's construction site. The construction will be started from the east, by the bus station, the metropolitan area and the demolition of the tram route in the section of the street, and the demolition of the Metropolitan Municipality will save time. The contractor is expected to start the construction of the tramway road at the latest after the Feast of Sacrifice.
The tram line is expected to be completed in February of 2017. The cost of the line will be 113 million 990 pounds. It is planned to carry a daily 14 passenger, consisting of 11 and 16 kilometers.
