Vienna-Budapest train service stops during refugee crisis

Vienna-Budapest train services have been stopped in the refugee crisis: Austria has announced that the Vienna-Budapest train services have been suspended due to the increasing number of refugees from Hungary.

In a statement from the Austrian State Railways (ÖBB), it stated that the train services from Budapest to Vienna were temporarily stopped due to the influx of refugees.

Officials announced last night that 3 refugees from Hungary moved to Austria. It is stated that 50 asylum-seekers entered Hungary in August through Serbia.

Last week, the Dublin Convention was suspended for 4 days and approximately 20 thousand asylum seekers were sent to Germany via Austria by train. The Hungarian and Austrian governments have increased border controls after the end of free passages.
