Thus, a significant increase in the capacity of the line, operating speed and comfort of the trains will be achieved, and rail will be preferred more in freight and passenger transportation. The project, which is planned to be completed by the end of 2017, will cost 258,8 million Euros. ”

Samsun-Kalın Railway line project is the largest scale project funded by European Union (EU) grant funds.
