Barcelona Suburb Expanded: With the opening ceremony held by Catalonia regional railway operator FGC, the Barcelona suburb extension line was put into service. The rail width of the line, which is 4 km in length, was made as 1435 mm. There are 3 stations on the line between Terrassa-Rambla and Terrassa Nacions Unides in the northwest of Barcelona.
The tunnel with 6,9 m diameter is serving with a depth range of 14,4 m to 37,5 m. The cost of the construction of the line was 401 million dollars, including the cost of renovating the Terrassa-Rambla station.
The trip time between Terrassa-Rambla and Terrassa Nacions Unides fell to 8 min. The annual passenger usage is expected to be 5,5 million.
