Refreshing Between Sivas Samsun

Samsun, Sivas Refreshing Break: The European Union is the improvement of the railway line from thick in the west of Samsun and Sivas although not members of the European Union approved the grant award for the development of Turkey.

The agreement was signed between the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Feridun Bilgin and the European Union delegate Bela Szombati on 3 July in the capital Ankara. TCDD general manager Ömer Yıldız was also present during the agreement.

According to the agreement signed, the European Union will grant a million Euro grant for the renewal and development of the line. Turkey will contribute to the overall project 220 million euros.

With the project, the renewal of the 370 km line is expected to end during the 2018 year. After the completion of the project, the journey time, which is normally 9 hours, will drop to 5 hours. The capacity of the line will increase from the daily 21 train to the 54 train. In addition, the number of passengers is expected to increase to 168 million / km annually and the amount of cargo to be transported to 867 million / km.
