Railway System Improvement Works in Konya Continues: Konya Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation Planning and Rail Systems has announced that 23 has been working to complete the ongoing renovation works on tram lines that have been used for years.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Planning and Rail System Department, the statement made on the subject is as follows: Within the scope of the "Construction of Alaaddin-Adliye Tram Line and Improvement of the Existing Campus Tram Line", the renewal of the level crossroads on the Campus Tram Line route continues.
Since the axle loads of the new tramway vehicles are approximately twice as heavy as those of the old cars, the improvement of the leveling areas of the 23 for years, which have weakened bearing capacity, has become inevitable. In order not to encounter any negative situation, it was started to reconstruct the intersections in a planned way. During the business planning, summer months were preferred when the schools where our citizens were traveling at least and the schools that were the least of the victims were closed.
In the summer of last year, before the schools were opened, the intersections between the Otogar and Campus were completed and in the summer months, the interchanges between the bus station and Alaaddin Hill were planned to be completed and the works were started with the closure of the schools. If the studies do not continue during the summer months, including the month of Ramadan, it is not possible to complete the studies before the schools are opened.
Until the completion of the subway works, the improvement of the existing tramway level crossroads is an inevitable necessity for the safer and more comfortable travel of our citizens.
