An agreement was reached for the Abidjan metro: 6 was signed on Monday for the first line of the Abidjan metro. The project will be implemented in partnership with French and Korean companies. The percentage share of the partnership will be Hyundai Rotem (% 33), Bouygues Subsidiaries DTP Terrassement and Bouygues Travaux Publics (% 33), Keolis (% 25) and Dongsan Engineering (% 9). Hyundai Rotem will be responsible for trains and signaling, Dongsan will be responsible for electrification, DTP Terrassement and Bouygues Travaux Publics will be responsible for engineering works and Keolis will be responsible for line efficiency.
With the metro line to be constructed, the northern and southern regions of the city will be connected to the city center. Felix Houphouet-Boigny airport will also be accessible via this line.
The statement said that the amount of preparation phase will be 40 million dollars. It is foreseen that the works will be completed in 2019 and will be offered to the passengers in 2020.
